Danielle Schoon is a cultural anthropologist with research and publications on migration, performance, and the politics of identity in contemporary Turkey. She was a Lecturer at Ohio State from 2015 to 2024, teaching in multiple departments along with Sociology, including NESA, Dance, Political Science, FRIT, and others. She is currently a full-time Assistant Professor of Teaching in Sociology and a COIL Fellow in the Office of International Affairs. Danielle frequently takes advantage of professional development opportunities to improve her teaching and is an advocate of universal design, active learning, and intercultural development. She has been awarded numerous internal grants from OIA, the Drake Institute, and other entities at Ohio State for her professional development, course design, and research. Danielle was named Outstanding Lecturer in the Department of Sociology in 2021.
