Sociology PhD Alumna Dr. Michelle Oyakawa to be Recognized at American Sociological Association Annual Meeting

Dr. Michelle Oyakawa a 2017 PhD alumna of the Sociology Department at The Ohio State University, and current Postdoctoral Scholar at University of California, Santa Barbara; will be recognized later this month at the American Sociological Association (ASA) Annual Meeting.

Her work "Building a Movement in the Non-Profit Industrial Complex", received the Collective Behavior and Social Movements Section Dissertation Award; which honors the best PhD dissertation from among those submitted in specific disciplines.

The Department would like to congratulate Dr. Oyakawa on her award, and we look forward to her future contributions.
