Claudia Buchmann, professor and chair of the Sociology Department, was elected to the Sociological Research Association (SRA), an honors society of sociology scholars dedicated to the excellence of research. SRA was founded in 1936 and membership invitations are extended to a limited number of socioligists each year, based on their long-term careers of distinguished research. Buchmann's research focuses on gender, race, and class inequalities in education in the U.S. She was inducted August 13 at the American Sociological Association annnual meeting.
