Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Luca Badolato is a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology at the Ohio State University, where he is also affiliated with the Institute for Population Research. His work highlights how social status characteristics and broader social contexts shape inequalities in reproductive experiences. In particular, he draws on reproductive rights and justice frameworks to illuminate the barriers that prevent individuals from achieving their reproductive aspirations. He also builds on insights from family sociology to investigate the relationship between demographic changes and family dynamics. As a social demographer, he approaches demography as a broad field at the intersection of social and statistical sciences that offers clear lenses to illuminate fundamental aspects of the social world. Across his projects, he combines traditional and innovative data sources and methods, including computational, quantitative, and qualitative approaches, and bridges different streams of demographic and sociological theoretical research. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in Demography, Population Studies, and the European Journal of Population, among other academic journals.
