Anneliese Schenk-Day’s research interests surround political conflict and collective memory. Globally, her work centers on cases of mass violence, specifically the intergenerational dialogues surrounding violence and its aftermath in Rwanda and Bosnia and Herzegovina. In these cases, she pays particular attention to gendered, familial, educational and ethnic dimensions of violence. Domestically, she studies moral panics and political entrepreneurship in the United States, particularly surrounding anti-transgender legislation.
