Kyra Rost (she/her) is a second-year Ph.D. Student in the Department of Sociology at The Ohio State University. She received her BS in Sociology from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas in December 2021. Kyra's current research interests broadly include the study of inequalities related to race, pop culture, social determinants of health, and criminology. She is currently working on her masters thesis project exploring alternative ways to measure and gauge the mental health of Black Americans using Hip-hop lyric analysis.
