I am a PhD candidate specializing in poverty, inequality, and economic sociology. For a previous project, I examined how the institutional arrangements and social organization of the small-scale dairy sector promotes human development in a rural province of the Dominican Republic. Most recently, I have been part of a project that explores the impact of the Great Recession on workers in Central Ohio, and I have worked with a team studying food insecurity in Nicaragua. For my dissertation, I plan to study the effects of network structure on workers' access to job leads in urban Nicaragua.
