What Qualifies as an Internship?

An Internship is a career-related work experience where students take on temporary roles as workers in an organization. Internships provide students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experiences, the opportunity to “test’ various careers and work environments, the opportunity to identify and develop career-related skills and abilities, and also provide the opportunity to connect with professionals for future networking.

Students may enroll in SOC 489 if they have a paid or non-paid career-related internship, or part-time position.

Resources for locating internships can be found on the ASC Career Services web page:
http://asccareerservices.osu.edu/
,

or on the SOC Career Resources web site:
http://sociology.osu.edu/UndergradProgram/careerinternship.php

Students may also make an appointment with a Sociology Advisor, to discuss internship opportunities, by calling 292-1175.
